Who We Support

Sanctuary 16 provides residential care for young people ages 8 - 16 with emotional and behavioural needs. We support children who may have experienced trauma, placement instability or adversity, offering a safe and structured environment where they can rebuild confidence, develop resilience and achieve positive outcomes.

Our Approach

At Sanctuary 16, we provide a safe, structured and nurturing environment where young people are supported to develop confidence, resilience and positive life outcomes.

Our approach is centred on building trusting relationships, maintaining consistent routines and providing individualised support tailored to each young person’s needs.

We recognise that many young people may have experienced adversity, trauma or placement instability. Our team works closely with professionals, families and external agencies to ensure every child receives the care, guidance and opportunities they need to thrive.

Through positive role modelling, structured activities, and emotional support, we help young people develop independence, improve their well-being, and move forward with confidence.

Our practice is guided by the principles set out in the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, ensuring that children receive safe, effective and nurturing care.

Our team works closely with local authorities, families and partner agencies to ensure that each young person receives consistent and effective care. We promote a culture of openness, accountability and professional responsibility in all aspects of our practice.

Our Home Environment

Sanctuary 16 provides a warm, safe and welcoming home environment where young people feel comfortable, respected and supported. Our home is designed to create a sense of stability and belonging, helping young people build positive routines and develop independence.

Young people are encouraged to participate in daily activities, develop life skills and engage in education, hobbies and community experiences that support their personal growth and wellbeing.

Education Support

We support young people to engage in education, training and personal development.
Our team works closely with schools, alternative provisions and virtual schools to ensure each young person receives the support they need to succeed.

Young people are encouraged to build confidence in learning, develop independence skills and explore positive opportunities for their future.
