Step Down - Floating Support

"Do you need a young person to be supported whilst on a tag?
Do you need secure accommodation and floating support?
We may be able to help!"
Sanctuary 16 provides floating support within our stand-alone units. Our floating support is tailored to meet the individual young person's needs, engage them fully, and build trusting relationships to promote positive change and outcomes.
All placements are undertaken following an in-depth assessment of risk. We can accept same-day placements if it is felt that a ‘quick’ transition will benefit the young person, providing the objectives of the placement are aligned with the home’s purpose and planning can take place. All young people are considered on an individual basis.
Who could benefit from living in a solo occupancy children’s home?
This service would support a young person who is ready for independence and requires complementary support hours. The team looks to create a safe environment using relationship-building, life skills, and independent skills to help the young person grow.
How we support young people in single occupancy homes
Our single-occupancy homes aim to meet the specific needs of young people with consistency, routine, structure, and appropriate boundaries. The young person will feel safe, enabling them to grow and develop new regulatory skills, self-esteem, and independent life skills. A holistic approach is taken throughout the placement to improve young people's independence and emotional well-being. In our homes, young people can access our online portals to access activities and trips organised by the organisation or partner agencies.

How we support young people in Floating Support/ Stand Alone homes
All of our services, except our emergency placement homes, provide an integrated Care, Education and Therapy package and seek to make positive progress in young people’s lives through joint work with key professionals and placing authorities.
We work with young people to build a stable and trusting environment where they can benefit from one of our online platforms, hoping to progress to the mainstream education system. The team at Sanctuary 16 provide assessments at the time of referral to learn and understand more about a young person’s past and present and to develop a plan that takes a holistic approach that includes education, care and therapy. We also work closely with young people in our care to develop their Care Plans and provide support and guidance to achieve their goals and aspirations.
